LG announces launch of micro-LED displays in XR applications

  • LG Electronics (LG) announced the launch of its MAGNIT display for virtual production, utilizing its micro-LED technology.

  • LG will release the LG MAGNIT display globally starting in June 2023. This immersive display offers a concave curvature of up to ten degrees and seamlessly combines virtual and live-action elements by synchronizing with monitors, cameras, and production computers. LG has also expressed its commitment to enhancing its micro-LED solutions through collaborations with industry leaders.

  • Analyst QuickTake: There has been increasing interest surrounding micro-LED technology, with Mojo Vision announcing a milestone in developing micro-LED displays and MIT’s design interface for full-color micro-LEDs to help boost visual fidelity on XR devices in February 2023 .
