IDEX Biometrics, a fingerprint sensor manufacturer, has raised NOK 125 million (~USD 11 million) by issuing new shares. The company intends to invest the funds in accelerating commercialization, working capital, and general corporate purposes.
Along with the funding, IDEX also partnered with French card manufacturer SELP to deploy biometric payment cards across the globe. SELP has a significant global presence, reportedly producing over 350 million cards per annum and serving over 60 countries.
Analyst QuickTake: IDEX continues its drive to enter partnerships and boost the commercialization of biometric payment cards. Earlier this week, the company partnered with DoelPay to launch biometric payment cards in Bangladesh (by Q4 2023).
