IrisGuard, an iris-based biometric authentication solutions provider, has partnered with Iraqi digital wallet NassWallet and the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to enable verified disbursement of humanitarian cash aid to refugees in Iraq. The companies are reportedly targeting over 280,000 refugees in the country that have fled to Iraq from neighboring conflicts.
The partnership will integrate IrisGuard’s “EyePay” smartphone and EyeCloud verification platform, with NassWallet’s mobile wallet service. IrisGuard noted that this is the third mobile network operator wallet it has fully integrated with across the MENA region.
NassWallet has deployed the EyePay payment systems in 37 sites across Iraq and plans to increase to 55 locations in the future.
