Solarcycle, a California-based company that recycles solar panels to produce sustainable materials for the solar industry, has partnered with Orsted, a leading clean energy company, to process and recycle Orsted's end-of-life solar modules from its projects across the US.
This agreement provides Ørsted with a portfolio-wide recycling solution for crystalline silicon (c-Si) solar modules, ensuring that all Ørsted's projects have recycling coverage. The agreement also supports Ørsted's global commitment, effective immediately, to reuse or recycle 100% of solar panels that reach end-of-life status.
Analyst QuickTake: Solarcycle has been actively working to expand its solar panel recycling capacity, advance its patented technology, and increase partnerships with industry leaders. Earlier this year, the company secured USD 30 million in a Series A funding round and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law funding to support its expansion plans. Last month, Solarcycle also partnered with AES Corporation to launch a pilot program to recycle end-of-life solar panel waste across AES's portfolio.
