MyForest Foods, a company specializing in mycelium-based alternative meats, has raised USD 15 million in a Series A-2 funding round led by Ecovative Design, the parent company of MyForest Foods.
The funds will support the expansion of retail and food service presence as the company increases its footprint across the Eastern Seaboard, including New York City.
To provide support and guidance for its expansion, the company has appointed Greg Shewchuk as CEO. Eben Bayer, co-founder and former CEO, will remain as chairman of the board and CEO of Ecovative.
Shewchuk, an experienced professional in marketing and consumer packaged goods, most recently held the position of CEO at SpoonfulONE and is an active member on the board of advisors for Gemic. He has also held leadership positions at Campbell Soup Company, Mead Johnson Nutrition, Mondelēz International, Cadbury’s Schweppes PLC, and Unilever.
