Ambercycle, a California-based startup that recycles textile waste into new materials, has partnered with Shinkong Synthetic Fibers, a Taiwan-based chemical fiber and PET manufacturer, to produce high-quality performance yarns using Ambercycle's regenerated Cycora material.
Since 2021, the two companies have been working closely and will now leverage Shinkong Synthetics' manufacturing capabilities and Ambercycle's expertise in molecular regeneration technology to expand the production of regenerated filament yarn. According to the executed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the two companies are also looking to establish and operate a commercial-scale manufacturing facility.
Analyst QuickTake: Ambercycle is aiming to broaden the market presence of its patented material, "Cycora." To do so, the company has also partnered with several other designer brands and companies, such as Justin Mensinger, Avery Dennison, and H&M, to offer its solution. Last year, the company also raised USD 21.6 million in an oversubscribed Series A funding round to scale the production of its "Cycora" material.
