Source.ag, a Netherlands-based provider of AI solutions for greenhouse operations, has secured USD 4 million in an extended Series A funding round, which includes USD 2 million each from SK Networks, through its US investment corporation Hico Capital, and an existing investor, the MIT-affiliated E14 fund. This extended funding round brings the total raised in Series A funding to USD 27 million.
The company intends to use the funds to expedite product development at Source.ag, introduce its AI products later in the year, and expand AI capabilities to encompass more crop types and farming methods.
Founded in 2020, Source.ag is an AgriTech company specializing in AI-powered greenhouse technology. It utilizes a digital twin of a greenhouse facility to model plant biology, predict resource usage, and forecast weekly crop yield. While focusing on fresh vegetable segments like tomatoes and peppers, Source.ag aims to support all fruit and vegetable growers. Its technology can be tailored to specific cultivars, providing farmers and cultivators with the information needed to make informed decisions and maximize crop yields.
