Wesfarmers, through its subsidiary, Australian Pharmaceutical Industries, has acquired telehealth provider InstantScripts for a total consideration of AUD 135 million (USD 91 million). The acquisition will strengthen Wesfarmers Health Division, complementing its pharmacy and Clear Skincare operations. Wesfarmers also plans to invest in InstantScripts to drive growth and expand digital health services.
InstantScripts will continue to operate under its brand name but as a subsidiary of Wesfarmers. Additionally, Richard Skimin, the CEO of InstantScripts, will retain his leadership position.

InstantScripts is an Australian telehealth provider that offers several virtual healthcare services. The platform enables Australian patients to consult with local physicians, receive prescriptions for medication, and have medication delivered to a patient’s house or nearby pharmacy. The company also provides additional services such as medical certificates, treatment plans, laboratory services, and specialist referrals as needed. InstantScripts operates both directly with patients (D2C) and through partnerships with health plans (B2B2C). As of June 2023, the company charges AUD 49 (~USD 33) per virtual consultation, has over one million registered accounts, and collaborates with over 2,500 pharmacy fulfillment partners.
