Having previously launched a Mac browser in October 2022, privacy-first search engine provider DuckDuckGo has unveiled its web browser for the Windows platform, currently available in public beta.
The browser incorporates several privacy protection features, including Duck Player, a YouTube player which blocks invasive ads, an integrated password manager, a cookie consent pop-up manager, intelligent web-page encryption, and one-click browsing history deletion. DuckDuckGo claims the browser offers more robust tracker blocking compared to peers.
DuckDuckGo also recently launched “Duck Assist”, a generative AI-powered search function that compiles natural language summaries from Wikipedia articles in response to questions submitted in DuckDuckGo’s search box. The company reportedly plans to roll out additional generative AI features in the future.
