Vast, a California-based developer of artificial gravity space stations, has partnered with space tech startup Impulse Space to provide the propulsion system for the Haven-1 commercial space station.
Impulse Space is designing and supplying the propulsion system for Haven-1 based on its Saiph thruster. The propulsion system will facilitate in-space maneuvering, positioning, and deorbiting at the end of the station's operational life.
Analyst QuickTake: Vast is on a path to becoming the world’s first commercial space station operator with its Haven-1 module, slated to launch by 2025. The module can accommodate up to four crew members and initially act as an extended-stay destination for Dragon flights and provide infrastructure for science, research, and in-space manufacturing.
