eVTOL jet developer Lilium has received the G-1 Certification basis from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for the type certificate validation of its Lilium Jet.
In addition to the certification received from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) in 2020, Lilium is seeking concurrent certification from the EASA and FAA to enable global operations. The company claims to be the only pioneer holding both an EASA and FAA certification basis for a powered lift eVTOL aircraft.
According to Lilium's CEO, this milestone represents a significant step toward achieving early certification in key markets and marks the path to global acceptance and expected operations by late 2025.
