Scantinel Photonics, a German startup that develops frequency-modulated continuous-wave (FMCW) LiDAR technology, has launched the second generation of a chip-scale photonic integrated circuit (PIC), bringing it a step closer to achieving a single-chip LiDAR.
The PIC facilitates high-quality data capture for autonomous driving with a high pixel rate and signal-to-noise ratio. The high integration into single-chip LiDAR results in cost reduction and a smaller size than existing solutions.
