Cipia announces first European OEM design win for its ‘Driver Sense’ driver monitoring system

  • Cipia, an Israel-based AI computer vision in-cabin automotive solutions provider, has secured a design win with an unnamed European automaker to install its Driver Sense driver monitoring system (DMS) in a car model to be sold in Europe in 2024. This marks the company's first European design win.

  • Cipia's Driver Sense DMS utilizes computer vision and AI technology and monitors a driver's state in real-time, tracking head pose, gaze direction, driver position, and actions and identifying distractions such as phone usage while driving.

  • Today’s design win adds to Cipia’s growing number of OEM customers, bringing its total design wins to 33 over 12 platforms and across eight car manufacturers.

  • Analyst QuickTake: Cipia and its peers might now see an increased demand for driver monitoring systems, especially from European automakers, as the European Union has made it mandatory for automakers to incorporate such techniques in their vehicles starting July 2026.
