Hyzon Motors, a developer of commercial hydrogen fuel-cell electric vehicles, has completed testing of nine single-stack 200 kW fuel-cell systems (FCS) at its production center, demonstrating progress toward commercial production and paving the way for the start of production (SOP) of the FCS in 2024.
During the tests, the company validated the design, equipment, and operating procedures necessary for final tooling and production, with a growth in the prototype assembly rate.
Hyzon plans to increase the FCS manufacturing rate by installing additional automation equipment to complete the remaining 16 B samples and begin production of C samples in H2 2023.
The single-stack 200kW FCS offers advantages such as improved efficiency, reduced volume, weight, cost, and maintenance of trucks, compared to current industry standards.
