SunHydrogen partners with COTEC to scale up operations

Partnerships

  • SunHydrogen, a solar-to-hydrogen startup, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with COTEC, a company involved in industrial electroplating and electrochemical processes.

  • Under this partnership, the two companies intend to explore the development and optimization of industrial electroplating solutions for SunHydrogen’s semiconductor deposition, a key component of its nanoparticle technology.

  • In each of SunHydrogen’s hydrogen generators billions of patented Photoelectrosynthetically Active Heterostructure (PAH) nanoparticles per square centimeter split apart water in order to generate hydrogen and oxygen. The PAH nanoparticles are made of multiple layers of solar cells with high-voltage, high-light absorbing properties. This allows Heliogen to make them ultra thin and with fewer materials. SunHydrogen and COTEC are looking to develop and implement electroplating solutions to expand the existing PAH architecture and process to manufacturing scale while maintaining low costs and high efficiency.
