Smart luggage company Monos opens first store in Vancouver

Product updates

  • Direct-to-consumer (DTC) luggage brand Monos opened its first physical store in Vancouver, British Columbia, where the company is headquartered. The store, which spans approximately 1,900 square feet, will showcase a variety of the brand's products, including a limited-edition sage colorway exclusive to the Vancouver store until mid-August.

  • The Vancouver store, located in the Kitsilano area, is designed to provide an experiential location for customers. Monos' suitcases are known for their distinct colors, patterned designs, and polycarbonate shells. The luggage is dent-resistant and features a telescopic handle, a TSA-approved lock, vegan leather details, and premium materials. The brand sells suitcases, bags, clothing, and accessories. The company plans to open more stores outside of British Columbia, including a location in Toronto next year. Monos is also considering expanding into key markets across Canada and the US in the coming years.

  • Analyst QuickTake: The store opening utilizes the company’s oversubscribed USD 30 million Series B funding round in September 2022 , with funding used to stock inventory to keep up with a surge in consumer demand, product development efforts, and headcount expansion. Additionally, Monos achieved 4x revenue growth in 2021 and further forecast 4x growth for 2022 as well.
