Meati Foods (formerly Emergy Foods), an alternative meat producer specializing in fermentation-based meat alternatives, has partnered with Whole Foods Market to sell its plant-based cutlets and steaks in Whole Foods locations across the US.
The partnership allows Meati Foods to achieve a national retail presence and expand its commercial reach by tapping into a network of 500 Whole Foods locations across 46 states.
Analyst QuickTake: Meati has been aggressively expanding its retail presence since the beginning of this year and aims to have its products in as many as 3,000 outlets by the end of the year. Some key expansions include the rollout of its products at 380 Sprouts Farmers Market locations , launching at 260 Meijer locations , and partnering with DOT Foods , the largest food distributor in the US.
