Sense Arena, a Prague-based studio, is introducing NHL Sense Arena, a VR game for ice hockey training. This game, designed for the Meta Quest 2 headset, is set to be released in the fall of 2023. The experience will carry the NHL brand name, marking the first time Sense Arena has collaborated with the NHL in this manner.
NHL Sense Arena allows users to attach sensors—including an Oculus Quest hand controller—to a hockey stick. When wearing VR goggles, users can interact in a virtual hockey rink, swinging at virtual pucks with their real sticks. The game translates these real-world movements into the virtual environment. This platform aims to help hockey enthusiasts refine their skills and offers an immersive experience by featuring the uniforms and logos of all 32 NHL teams.
