Rubrik, the zero-trust data security company, has signed an agreement to acquire Israeli data security posture management (DSPM) company Laminar. Terms of the deal were not officially disclosed.
Laminar’s DSPM platform automatically maps all data records in a company’s environment, leveraging machine learning to identify vulnerabilities and generate remediation suggestions.
Laminar technology will be incorporated into Rubrik’s data protection platform, allowing it to offer enhanced data visibility and mapping capabilities in customer cloud environments and data storage. The acquisition will also serve as a starting point for the establishment of a new Rubrik R&D center in Tel Aviv.
Rubrik, which has its origins in data backup software, builds AI and machine learning (ML)-powered data security solutions for enterprise networks, cloud environments, and SaaS. The company has raised over USD 1 billion since its launch in 2014 and was valued at USD 4 billion in 2021.
