Cybersecurity firm Rapid7 has announced a restructuring plan that includes the termination of 18% of its workforce, or ~500 employees, and the closure of several office locations.
Company officials say the decision was spurred by the need to improve efficiencies and achieve integration across solutions to keep pace with threat actors in increasingly complex enterprise environments. All affected employees will reportedly receive severance pay, continued healthcare benefits, career guidance, and outplacement services.
The restructuring and layoffs were announced alongside Rapid7’s quarterly results with the company reporting revenues of USD 190 million and adjusted earnings per share (EPS) of USD 0.18 for the quarter, beating analyst estimates.
According to reports, the company is tendering a takeover offer from a private equity firm.
