Matter, a UK-based company providing solutions for capturing and recycling microplastics, has raised USD 10 million in a Series A funding round led by S2G Ventures and SOUNDWaves. Regeneration.VC and Katapult Ocean also participated in this round.
The company intends to use the funds to scale its micro-plastic filtration technology to stop microplastic and other micropollutant emissions from domestic, industrial, and municipal water systems and develop solutions for commercial and industrial applications, avoiding sewage sludge or incineration.
Kate Danaher of S2G Ventures and Katherine Keating of SOUNDWaves will join Matter’s expanded board of directors.
Founded in 2018, Matter provides solutions for capturing, harvesting, and recycling microplastics using its micro-filtration technology. The company works with domestic and commercial laundry appliance manufacturers to integrate its technology into its products ahead of incoming French legislation requiring new domestic and commercial washing machines to be fitted with microfiber filters by January 2025.
