Linera, a layer-1 blockchain, raised USD 6 million in a seed funding round led by Borderless Capital. Total funds raised by the company now stand at USD 12 million.
It aims to use the fresh funds for recruitment, expansion of its developer academy, launching a devnet and a testnet for the protocol, and establishing a strategic presence in the APAC region.
Established in 2021, Linera was formed by Mathieu Baudet, a former engineer at Meta Novi. It operates as a layer-1 blockchain, employing a delegated proof-of-stake consensus mechanism to handle transactions. Linera's goal is to enhance blockchain scalability through the implementation of separate microchains. Each application developed within this framework can communicate across chains using asynchronous messages.
