ZetaChain, a layer-1 proof-of-stake blockchain, has raised USD 27 million in equity funding. The round saw participation from several investors including Sky9 Capital, Jane Street Capital, VistaLabs, and Kudasai.
It plans to use the funds to accelerate the development of its chain-agnostic platform.
The company claims that it has deployed more than 27,000 dApp contracts on its platform, with more than 13 million transactions being executed on its testnet by over 1.7 million users.
Established in 2021 in France, ZetaChain is designed to provide standardized interoperability between networks. This enables non-smart contract chains such as Bitcoin to interact with the broader decentralized finance (DeFi) ecosystem, allowing developers to implement smart contracts on networks that do not employ the technology.
