Bushel, a North Dakota-based digital platform connecting farmers and agribusinesses, has raised USD 26 million in funding led by The Banc Funds Company, with participation from new and existing investors, including 50 South Capital, The Andersons, Cargill, Germin8, Lewis & Clark AgriFood, The Scoular Company, and Conti Ventures.
The company intends to use the funds to continue developing software products and features for farmers, grain buyers, ag retailers, protein producers, and food companies.
Christopher Hopkins, the FinTech portfolio manager at The Banc Funds Company, has also joined Bushel's board of directors.
Founded in 2011, Bushel is a software company that develops digital tools for farmers and agribusinesses in the agricultural supply chain, digitizing the flow of information, transactions, and payments through mobile and desktop applications. The platform includes farm management software and an agriculture-focused professional services division alongside market feeds, trading tools, digital payments, and money facilitation. Since its inception, the company has supported more than 2,600 grain and agricultural retail facilities in the US and Canada.
