Umiami partners with FFF Fresh & Frozen Food to launch products in Switzerland

Geographic expansion

  • Umiami, a French plant-based brand, has formed a strategic partnership with Swiss distribution specialist FFF Fresh & Frozen Food to introduce its vegan chicken fillet in 165 Coop stores across Switzerland.

  • Umiami employs innovative umisation technology to create its vegan chicken fillets using less than 10 ingredients and zero texturing agents or methylcellulose, resulting in a product that claims to closely resemble the taste, texture, and appearance of real chicken.

  • AnalystQuickTake: Umiami’s umisation technology enables the development of plant-based whole-cuts without 3D printing. According to the company, this technology can create products up to three inches thick, with meat-like fibers and fewer flavor losses than high moisture extrusion (HME).
