AI21 Labs raises USD 155 million in Series C funding

Funding

  • AI21 Labs, an AI startup based in Tel Aviv developing foundation models and related applications, has raised USD 155 million in a Series C funding round. Investors include Walden Catalyst, Pitango, SCB10X, b2venture, Samsung Next, and Amnon Shashua, the founder of Intel-owned Mobileye and a co-founder of AI21 Labs. Notable participants also include Google and NVIDIA.

  • This round brings AI21 Labs' total raised capital to USD 283 million, valuing the company at USD 1.4 billion—slightly higher than previously reported.

  • The funds will be used to accelerate the growth of its text-based generative AI services for enterprises.
