Renewcell, a Swedish startup that recycles textile waste into circular material feedstock, has partnered with Yibin Grace, a Chinese textile producer, to integrate Renewcell's Circulose into Yibin's recycled textiles. Yibin has successfully tested a 50% blend of Circulose in its man-made cellulosic fiber (MMCF) and expects to commercialize it by the end of 2023.
The collaboration aims to reduce the environmental impact of viscose production and meet China's climate goals. In addition, the partnership will support Yibin to meet its CanopyStyle commitments.
This is the second time the two companies have partnered, with the first taking place in 2022, when Yibin Grace joined Ekman and Renewcell to adopt next-gen MMCF solutions. This involved the production of recycled cellulose filament yarn, with 30% Circulose produced by Renewcell and blended with 70% FSC-certified fiber.
