Plastic Energy, a UK-based company offering plastic recycling solutions, has established a new pilot plant at the Loughborough University Science and Enterprise Park. It will be utilized to optimize its chemical recycling technology, test new feedstocks, and expand processes.
The new facility was preceded by the R&D labs, which opened in November 2022. Plastic Energy’s pilot plant would be the first step in scaling projects from the lab to commercial-scale deployment.
Simultaneously, Plastic Energy plans to build a digital twin of the pilot plant to gather data on the performance of recycling plants currently under construction.
