Zwift, the online training and racing platform for cyclists, announced plans to launch three at-home fitness hardware models to supplement its racing platform. Further details on the equipment have not yet been specified.
The products will be manufactured in China, with manufacturing partners already selected, and the company plans to distribute the product to its customers worldwide.
Currently, the platform features bikes “Tacx Neo 2T” and “Wahoo Kickr V5” from third-party equipment providers.
Funds were made available to the company in September 2020 when it raised USD 450 million to introduce its own hardware and expand its coverage by introducing other gamified sporting activities. At that time, Zwift had 2.5 million subscribers across 190 countries.
Zwift is a startup developing and hosting virtual cycling races. With the Zwift virtual environment, users can ride in groups and participate in races.
