Salient Predictions, an ocean and land surface-based climate risk analytics provider, received an undisclosed Small Business Innovation Research Grant from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
The funds will be utilized to develop water availability predictions, ranging from two to 52 weeks.
The funds would support Phase I of the project concerning subseasonal to seasonal (S2S) water forecasts in California's Central Valley. In addition, Salient expects to integrate a high-resolution hydrologic model that estimates soil moisture, evapotranspiration, and stream flow for improved forecasts.
