d-Matrix, a company specializing in GenAI compute for data centers, has raised USD 110 million in a Series B funding round led by Temasek, with participation from other investors such as Playground Global and M12 (Microsoft's venture fund). The total funds raised by the company now stand at USD 154 million.
The funding will be used to enable d-Matrix to commercialize its Digital-In Memory Compute (DIMC) chiplet-based inference compute platform, called “Corsair.” The platform is expected to launch in 2024.
Founded in 2019, d-Matrix, headquartered in California with offices in Bengaluru, India, and Sydney, Australia, aims to address the memory bottleneck in AI computing through the development of high-efficiency DIMC solutions. Corsair will offer a lower total cost of ownership compared to GPU-based alternatives, making AI inference more cost-effective. Moreover, the company plans to recruit more staff to commercialize its product.
