CrowdStrike has agreed to acquire Israeli application security posture management (ASPM) vendor Bionic to enhance its cloud-native application security capabilities. Financial terms were not disclosed, though unofficial reports put the deal at approximately USD 350 million. The acquisition was announced at CrowdStrike's Fal.Con 2023 conference.
Bionic will be offered as an independent solution fully integrated with CrowdStrike’s Falcon security platform, adding ASPM to a broad range of services including cloud workload protection (CWP), cloud security posture management (CSPM), and cloud infrastructure entitlement management (CIEM). CrowdStrike says the acquisition will enable it to offer a unified code-to-runtime cloud application security platform.
Founded in 2019, Bionic operates an application intelligence platform that provides a comprehensive inventory of cloud applications, including architecture and data flows, monitors production changes, and implements guardrails for app architecture.
CrowdStrike previously announced a new cybersecurity marketplace and partner program at Fal.Con 2023, as well.
