wamo, a UK-based B2B digital bank, has raised USD 1.5 million in a seed extension round led by Finberg and RePie Asset Management. The total funds raised by the company now stand at USD 6.8 million.
The company plans to use the funds to develop credit products and features for SMEs, expand into new markets, and apply for an electronic money institution (EMI) license in Finland.
Established in 2018, wamo offers digital business accounts and a marketplace called “wamo Connect,” which provides SMEs with access to various services, including accountancy platforms, domain hosting, and marketing agencies. wamo has processed nearly EUR 1.3 billion in transactions to date and has opened business accounts for 7,500 new customers in Europe and the UK.
