Kern Tec raises EUR 12 million in Series A funding round

Funding

  • Austrian plant-based food company Kern Tec has raised EUR 12 million (~USD 12.7 million) in Series A funding led by Telos Impact, with participation from the PeakBridge Growth 2 Fund and the European Innovation Council (EIC) Fund.

  • The funding will be used to scale up production and commercialize Kern Tec's plant-based milk alternatives and confectionery.

  • Kern Tec, founded in 2019, develops plant-based alternatives using oils extracted from upcycled stone fruit pits. In 2021, the company launched its first dairy-free milk, Wunderkern, and is now available in over five countries.
