Nord Security, the Lithuanian VPN provider and parent company of NordVPN, has raised USD 100 million in a strategic funding round led by Warburg Pincus, with participation from existing investors Novator Ventures and Burda Principal Investments. The funds were raised at a valuation of USD 3 billion, doubling the USD 1.6 billion seen during the firm's first external funding round held in April 2022.
The proceeds will be used to fund growth through mergers and acquisitions and expand Nord’s product portfolio.
Founded in 2012, Nord Security offers a number of privacy and internet security products for both consumers and businesses including NordPass, NordLocker, and NordLayer, which are all designed to be easily integrated into existing systems. The firm agreed to merge with fellow VPN provider SurfShark last year, with the two firms continuing to operate independently but combining resources.
