Fireblocks, a blockchain infrastructure and security company, has acquired BlockFold, an Australian asset tokenization platform, for USD 10 million to expand its capabilities in tokenization.
The company plans to leverage this acquisition to offer clients a range of tokenization services via its blockchain network, such as advisory, token customization, orchestration, and distribution. Furthermore, Fireblocks will integrate the BlockFold development and business consulting team into its own Web3 engineering staff and Financial Markets group, respectively.
BlockFold offers a range of tokenization services, including smart contract development and security auditing and advisory, to enable institutional clients to tokenize a range of assets. These include deposits, stablecoins and central bank digital currencies, and alternative assets such as carbon credits, real estate, and investment funds. Some of its clients include the Bank of International Settlements, Swiss National Bank, Banque de France, Singapore’s Ministry of Finance, and the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.
