FarmSense, a pest management and insect monitoring platform company, has received a USD 750,000 investment as one of two winners of the 2023 Radicle Inclusion Challenge Presented by Nutrien. The competition was part of an initiative by Radicle (a California-based venture capital firm focused on early-stage agriculture and FoodTech startups) and Nutrien (a Canadian producer of crop inputs) to promote diversity and inclusion in the commercial agriculture sector by supporting women and black, indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) entrepreneurs.
The company intends to use the funds to further develop and expand its “FlightSensor” technology. In addition to the investment, the company also expects to collaborate with Radicle Growth and Nutrien, as well as gain access to Radicle's company-building platform.
