Singapore Telecommunications (SingTel) has agreed to sell its managed detection and response unit Trustwave Holdings to Chertoff Group, a cybersecurity advisory services firm, for USD 205 million. The divestment is expected to be completed by Q4 2023.
Chertoff Group has recently made several investments in cybersecurity, including participation in a USD 60 million growth financing round for data protection firm Virtru. Trustwave has lost nearly 75% of its value since its purchase by SingTel in 2015 for USD 770 million, and the decision follows a strategic review citing scaling limitations due to Covid-19 economic shocks.
Trustwave offers managed detection response, managed security services, database security, and email security globally.
