Wolf3D's Ready Player Me metaverse avatar creation platform announced the addition of geometry-aware AI texturing to its developer tools.
The feature facilitates the accurate mapping of textures onto 3D models, including asset intricacies, such as the positioning of pockets, buttons, and seams. As a result, generated textures can be mapped to match these elements on an avatar, offering a heightened level of realism. This tool is publicly available and doesn't require users or developers to register with Ready Player Me.
Analyst QuickTake: The update allows users to create a more diverse range of avatars, given additional customization features. This follows the launch of the company’s GenAI copilot powered by GPT-4 in August 2023 , helping users streamline avatar development.
