RecycLiCo receives two patents from Japan and Australia for its battery recycling

Product updates

  • RecycLiCo Battery Materials (RecycLiCo), a Canadian battery materials manufacturer focusing on lithium-ion battery recycling and materials production, has been granted two patents in Australia (Patent No. 2020237451) and Japan (Patent No. 7341598) for its lithium-ion battery recycling process. This increases RecycLico's patent portfolio to 10 granted patents, with six additional applications underway. The new patents are the second verification of RecycLiCo's technology in both regions.

  • The grants consider the novel advancements in RecycLico’s process: 1) separation of graphite and carbon from ground battery concentrates, 2) treatment of fluoride from electrolyte solutions, and 3) separation of aluminum from cathode active material.

  • RecycLico intends to use these patents as legal protection for the company's intellectual property and scale its commercialization partnerships.
