Veg of Lund, a Swedish plant-based dairy company, has been awarded patent approval covering the entire US market for its vegan potato emulsion used in its DUG range of potato-based milk from the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
The potato emulsion combines potatoes, rapeseed oil, and vegetable protein to create the milk alternative.
DUG holds patents for its dairy alternatives in Sweden, Europe, and Canada, with active patent applications in Australia, China, and Japan, among other nations.
