OSMOSUN expands in Morocco through new JV with PCS

Geographic expansion

  • OSMOSUN, a French provider of low-carbon seawater and brackish water desalination solutions, has created OSMOSUN MA in Morocco, an equal joint venture (JV) with PCS, a Moroccan industrial group.

  • OSMOSUN MA intends to prioritize small- to medium-scale desalination projects in Morocco, providing drinking water to remote areas and supporting the Moroccan government's National Program for Drinking Water Supply and Irrigation within the National Water Plan for 2020–2050. The company will handle plant design, manufacturing, installation, commissioning, and operation, leveraging OSMOSUN's solar desalination technology and PCS's local infrastructure management expertise.

  • Analyst QuickTake: After partnering with the TPS Group in October 2022 to provide access to clean water in remote East African regions, OSMOSUN is now focused on deploying its proprietary solar photovoltaic desalination solutions across West and North Africa. As of date, the company operates in more than 30 countries in Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific, and has sold 59 desalination plants.
