Spanish company PLD Space successfully launched its first suborbital rocket, called Miura 1, from a test site in Spain. The rocket is a technology demonstrator for PLD Space's Miura 5 small launch vehicle, which is still in development.
Miura 1 is a suborbital rocket that reached a peak altitude of 46 km on its first flight. It is designed to validate 70% of the design and technology planned for Miura 5.
According to PLD Space, the successful launch of Miura 1 accelerates the technological advancement of the Miura 5, bringing the company closer to its ultimate goal of launching the Miura 5 by 2025.
