Fileverse, a decentralized file management and storage platform, has raised USD 1.5 million in a pre-seed round co-led by Gnosis Chain and Factor, with participation from Safe, Mask Network, and Arweave Ecosystem, among others. In 2022, the company had raised nearly USD 280,000 in grants and donations.
Fileverse offers a decentralized file management and collaboration service that prioritizes user data ownership and serves as an alternative to Google or Notion.
The platform utilizes smart contracts and securely stores encrypted data on the InterPlanetary File System (IPFS), a peer-to-peer file-sharing network developed by Protocol Labs, the creator of Filecoin (FIL), to eliminate the need for depending on a single server provider. Furthermore, Fileverse has designed a specialized tool that complies with European data privacy regulations, such as GDPR, by employing advanced cryptographic encryption methods.
