BitGo acquires crypto asset management platform Heightzero

M&A

  • BitGo, a cryptocurrency custody, infrastructure, and liquidity solutions provider, has acquired HeightZero, a crypto asset management platform, for an undisclosed amount.

  • HeightZero offers a suite of tools for asset managers to incorporate cryptocurrencies into their clients' portfolios. These include tools for portfolio rebalancing, statement generation, tax loss harvesting, and automated billing. BitGo plans to leverage this acquisition to offer secure and regulated custody products to HeightZero’s client base of asset managers and regulated investment advisors (RIAs).

  • Analyst QuickTake: This news comes just two months after BitGo raised USD 100 million in Series B funding, which it earmarked for making strategic acquisitions. Notably, the move could be in anticipation of increased demand for bitcoin and digital assets upon the potential approval of a Spot Bitcoin ETF in the near future.
