Beta Technologies has selected Solvay as its primary composite material supplier.
Under this partnership, Solvay will provide materials and support for the production of Beta's Alia electric aircraft, which can operate as both conventional take-off and landing (CTOL) and electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft.
The partnership aims to develop lightweight and certifiable aircraft for various applications, including medical, cargo, and passenger transportation.
Analyst QuickTake: During the same month , Beta opened its 188,500 sq ft manufacturing facility at Patrick Leahy Burlington International Airport in Vermont. The facility is designed for a production rate of up to 300 aircraft a year but could double its size in a Phase two expansion. The company is currently developing the A250 eVTOL version of the Alia, which is scheduled for certification in 2026.
