Nidec and Embraer to form JV with Eve Air Mobility as first customer

Partnerships

  • Embraer, an NYSE-listed aerospace manufacturer, and Nidec Corporation, an electrical and electronic manufacturing company, have received regulatory approval to establish their joint venture (JV), Nidec Aerospace LLC. Nidec owns 51% of the JV, while Embraer controls 49%.

  • The JV aims to develop electric propulsion systems (EPS) for the aerospace sector. The partnership brings together the expertise of both companies to accelerate sustainable aviation on a global scale. Nidec Aerospace expects to invest over USD 77 million in the coming years to begin mass production in 2026.

  • As its first customer, the JV has chosen Eve Air Mobility, a company developing next-gen urban air mobility (UAM) solutions.
