Embraer, an NYSE-listed aerospace manufacturer, and Nidec Corporation, an electrical and electronic manufacturing company, have received regulatory approval to establish their joint venture (JV), Nidec Aerospace LLC. Nidec owns 51% of the JV, while Embraer controls 49%.
The JV aims to develop electric propulsion systems (EPS) for the aerospace sector. Nidec Aerospace expects to invest over USD 77 million in the coming years to begin mass production in 2026.
As its first customer, the JV has chosen Eve Air Mobility, a company developing next-gen urban air mobility (UAM) solutions.
