ACE Green Recycling joins research agreement with National Renewable Energy Laboratory

Partnerships

  • ACE Green Recycling (ACE), an innovative recycling platform for battery materials, has signed a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) with the US Department of Energy's National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). They intend to develop the ACE's lithium-ion battery recycling technology for recycling graphite, lithium-iron phosphate (LFP), and other cathode-active materials (CAMs).

  • NREL expects to evaluate and commercialize ACE’s proprietary technology for upcycling graphite to battery-grade materials. Through the partnership, NREL will provide cell production, modeling, analysis, and other advanced tools to demonstrate ACE technology at NREL's facility in Colorado.

  • The research agreement aims to identify optimal recycling parameters for LFP and graphite that will optimize the batteries made from recycled materials using ACE's technology.
