Shanghai-based VR headset manufacturer, DPVR, announced its E4C headset targeted at the VR arcade industry.
The E4C features a 4K fast-LCD display, a 90Hz refresh rate, and three degrees of freedom. It also offers a 116° field of view using Fresnel lenses and includes a 90° flip-up design for easy transition between the virtual and real worlds.
Specifically designed for VR theme parks, the E4C is compatible with various VR hardware, such as rotation chairs, simulations, and racing games. Additionally, the E4C is fully compatible with the DPVR Assistant, simplifying the setup process and allowing easy access to game libraries.
Analyst QuickTake: The headset broadens use cases of the company’s headsets, following the launch of its P2 headset in September 2023 , targeting EdTech providers. Furthermore, the development of a headset geared specifically to the VR arcade industry will help DPVR develop a competitive advantage against general consumer-grade headsets used in arcades, such as the Meta Quest 2.
