Hyzon Motors (Hyzon), a commercial hydrogen fuel cell technology developer, has partnered with REMONDIS Australia, a recycling and water company, to deploy its first heavy-duty fuel cell electric (FCEV) waste collection truck in a commercial trial in Australia.
The truck was developed in Australia and designed to have a range of 124 miles and be capable of 1,500 bin lifts per working day.
REMONDIS plans to purchase the vehicle upon the success of the trial.
Hyzon plans to expand its FCEV offerings globally, with the first US waste collection vehicle currently being assembled, with plans to start commercial trials in the US in 1H 2024.
